Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead and oversee technical accounting engagements, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance efforts;
  • Offer expert guidance and interpretation of accounting standards such as IFRS and GAPSME, as well as regulatory requirements to our clients;
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis on intricate accounting issues and emerging accounting pronouncements;
  • Assist clients in preparing and reviewing financial statements, including technical accounting memos and position papers;
  • Efficiently manage multiple accounting advisory engagements concurrently;
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, and timelines, while effectively allocating resources;
  • Closely monitor project progression, swiftly address and resolve any issues, and provide regular updates to clients and senior management;
  • Comprehend the unique business needs and challenges of clients, delivering tailored solutions and recommendations;
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and expand the array of services provided;
  • Sustain a profound understanding of our clients’ industries, remaining well-informed about industry trends and developments;
  • Contribute to the formulation of the Accounting Advisory Services strategy, including identifying target markets and service offerings;
  • Supervise a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and ongoing performance feedback;
  • Recognize training requirements and facilitate training programs to bolster the team’s technical expertise;
  • Collaborate closely with other managers and directors to optimize resource allocation and staffing for various engagements.

Experience

  • Hold a University degree in accountancy or ACCA qualification;
  • Have an extensive knowledge of accounting principles, standards (e.g., IFRS, GAPSME), and regulatory requirements;
  • Have strong experience in providing accounting advisory services or working in technical accounting roles;
  • Proven business development acumen, including experience in generating new business opportunities;
  • Proficiency in accounting software, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Audit experience will be considered an asset.
