Financial Analyst

Job Description

The main focus of this role will be the co-ordination of the budget. The person will need to liaise with all the Country managers as well as with Finance & BI.

It is a very dynamic and challenging role which has the potential to touch all aspects of the business’s operations. A sense for detail, structure and order is essential.

  • Support annual financial planning and quarterly forecasts. Establish timelines and initiate reviews with business leaders to ensure budget or forecast are delivered on time.
  • Manage multiple forecast and budget versions for the Group, all vertical and horizontals
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports to support reporting cycles, including month-end closing process
  • Conduct financial modelling and communicate results to business leaders to support decision making or to understand financial risk and opportunity within the organization
  • Provide and explain financial information and guidance effectively to all levels of the organization
  • Support the development of automated reporting and forecasting tools to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Manage data flows between the financial system and other systems
  • Troubleshooting data inputs and assumptions, when necessary
  • Align financial system structure to internal organizational structure
  • Act as liaison between operating areas for cross-functional projects
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and addressing strategic questions based on data
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Tertiary-level education or equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, Statistics, or Business Computing and a minimum of three years’ relevant experience
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and analysing operating and capital expenses
  • Building and managing complex financial models
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • An inquisitive mind
  • A self-starter
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple stakeholders to meet ambitious goals
  • Outstanding organization, project and time management skills
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
  • Comfortable working independently and under pressure

What are the nice to haves?

  • Knowledge of Google Workspace & eco-system, such as Google Sheets, Apps Script
  • Proficiency with data query/data management tools considered a plus (SQL / PowerBI / Tableau or similar)
