Job Description

Job Purpose

The Media Sales Executive discovers and pursues new sales prospects, promotes and sells media products and services for print and online and maintains excellent relationships with all clients. Media Sales executives ensure that the company’s overall sales targets and expectations to drive growth and sustainability are met and surpassed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Studies and understands all facets of the media products and services being offered
  • Trains in various sales tactics and approaches approved by the company
  • Approaches potential clients through new leads, cold calls, networking, social media, existing relationships, promotional events, or other means
  • Hones and delivers a skilled sales pitch to potential clients, explaining the benefits, data, reach and potential audience of specific media offerings to them through professional presentations
  • Details pricing and negotiate costs when necessary and handle complaints
  • Facilitates successful sales by collecting client information and providing order information to the company, creating frequent reports with sales and financial data
  • Tracks every media sale made to ensure that it is completed accurately and on time
  • Works to maximise sales and meet targets in the short and long term
  • Maintains excellent relationships with all clients in the executive’s portfolio
  • Meets clients outside of normal business hours when necessary
  • Collaborates with the rest of the team to achieve better results

Main Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English and Maltese
  • Technologically savvy and excellent knowledge of traditional and new media
  • Thorough understanding of marketing technology and negotiating skills
  • Fast learner and passion for sales
  • Self-motivated and results-driven
