Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Support users with Hardware and Software problems;
- Log and complete support tasks according to procedure and processes;
- Keep an inventory of IT hardware and communications assets;
- Perform administrative tasks required by the IT department supporting backup and maintenance procedures;
- Actively promote technology throughout the company and provide training for applications and tools used by internal users;
- Be responsible for performing IT-related onboarding and offboarding procedures, including the configuration of active directories, applications access control, email, and computer profiles;
- Identify, recommend, and execute upgrades of existing computer systems;
- Collaborate with and escalate issues to partners and suppliers as required;
- Assist the projects and telematics teams to achieve common department goals;
- Ensure security tools installed on computer systems are configured according to IT standards and kept up to date;
- Responsible for testing, installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance of new and existing computers, printers, technology devices and applications;
- Ensuring communication tools are made available and configured correctly, including maintenance and configuration of the call centre, control room and office telephony systems;
- Provide knowledge transfer to other team members – this could take the form of on-the-job assistance;
- Ensure that all department personnel are trained and informed about the technologies and procedures of the department.
Experience
- Have a Bachelors’ Degree in computer science or equivalent;
- Have at least 2 years of working experience in IT Technical Support on Windows Operating Systems including client/ Server applications;
- Have experience working with SharePoint and other Office 365 products;
- Have basic knowledge of networking, e.g. TCP/IP, WAN/LAN;
- Have knowledge of SQL Servers.
Personal Skills
- Microsoft Certifications will be considered an asset;
- Able to manage and prioritise workloads effectively;
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills;
- Good administrative skills and attention to detail;
- The ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
