Role summary

*Role is remote with flexible office access, candidates must be willing to be based 6 months per annum in Malta.

This candidate will work closely with the CTO & CEO to help establish our new team of engineers in Malta. Although day to day work will initially be coding / implementation focused, successful candidates may progress to manage the Global Engineering team. This candidate will have considerable input on our product backlog and will gain constant exposure to the commercial requirements of the venture.

Responsibilities

We view all members of the team as equals. This means we all have responsibility for the whole process and expect that from all involved. Specifically the participants in this role will:

● Implementation of development sprints

● Designing & managing development sprints with Product Manager

● Converting product brainstorms & client feedback into detailed specifications documents

● Advising CTO on technical architecture decisions

● Mongo DB

● Vue.js

● Jelastic / layershift

● Spring

● (Currently in transition from Monolith to Microservices architecture)

● AWS

Required Experience

● 5+ years of Software Engineering

● Demonstrated history of managing engineering teams

● Track record of communicating with non-technical teams

● JIRA

● As much of the current tech stack as possible

Preferable Skills

● Strong sense of ownership for their role, product and company

● Strong methodical approach to workflow

● Detail-orientated

● Mathematical and/or logical aptitude

● Strong verbal communication skills

● Demonstration of coding skills – Git projects or previous evidence of coding
