Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide support for Oracle EBS environments across multiple clients;
- Support functional and technical teams during issue resolution and root cause analysis;
- Provide solutions to system performance tuning/optimization;
- Proactively monitor, prepare and execute risk mitigation solutions for potential issues;
- Perform Oracle EBS tuning, cloning, patching and upgrading;
- Perform backup, restoration and cloning procedures for Oracle Apps and databases;
- Provide configuration, monitoring, and support for development, test, and production environments;
- Install and maintain the performance of Oracle Apps and database servers;
- Develop processes for optimizing database security;
- Recommend and implement emerging database technologies;
- Prepare clear and precise technical documentation;
- Provide mentoring to less experienced DBAs;
- Keep abreast with the latest developments within your segment.
Experience
- Have at least a tertiary level of education in Computer Science or a relevant field;
- Be familiar with Oracle database 10g/11g/12c/19c;
- Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard and RAC configuration and administration;
- Proficiency in administration of OEM and OAM;
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Oracle Apps DBA;
- UNIX, Linux, and Microsoft Windows Oracle experience required;
- WebLogic administration experience in the scope of Oracle eBusiness Suite;
- Possession of exceptional skills in planning, documenting, and carrying out; deployments, patching, migrations, upgrades and cloning of Oracle Apps and databases;
- Possession of exceptional skills in performing and documenting an Oracle database; health check for security, performance, availability, upgrades, and backups;
- Ability to export and import data from and to an Oracle database, and performing backup and recovery procedures;
- Fluent use of the English language, both written and spoken;
- Willingness to obtain additional Oracle Certification when required and to work with new technologies and on first-hand issues;
- Availability for on-call support as needed and to perform occasional scheduled off hour nightly production installs, patches or upgrades.
Personal Skills
- Oracle Certifications; OCA, OCP, OCM and/or OCE;
- Familiarity with Oracle Warehouse Builder and Oracle Data Integrator;
- Experience with Rapid Clone;
- Experience in Oracle eBusiness Suite R12.2 multi-node environments;
- Experience with Cloud Services and Platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS and Oracle Cloud;
- Must be an excellent team player and respond well to constructive feedback;
- Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Solutions including IDCS and Oracle Fusion.
